Galway Swimming Club swimmers are invited to attend the annual John Dempsey Memorial Gala, a development-focused meet with electronic timing, age-group medals, and cut-off entry standards. Please review all details carefully before submitting entries.
This Gala is a perfect introduction to a slightly more Competitive Swimming for younger and inexperienced swimmers . UL is an amazing spacious venue, half day event and very relaxed atmosphere.

Meet Conditions (Summary)
- Swim Ireland rules apply.
- Medals awarded for ages 9, 10, 11, 12 & 13.
- Maximum of 4 individual events per swimmer.
- Cut-off times apply — swimmers faster than the cut-off may not enter that event.
- Events may be restricted if oversubscribed, with priority to younger/slower swimmers.

Guidance for Entering Galas
The purpose of the entry process is to ensure your swimmer is entered into the correct gala and the correct events. When using the TeamApp Store, please follow the steps below:
- Check your login: If you open TeamApp and cannot see the store items, it usually means you are not logged in with the email address linked to your Galway Swim Club account. Logging in with the correct email will fix this.
- Select the correct store item: Choose the gala entry item that matches the gala you wish to enter and the number of events your swimmer will be doing.
- Answer all questions: Complete the required fields:
- Swimmer Name
- Training Squad
- Event Details
- Provide clear event details: In the event details section, clearly state the distance and the stroke, e.g. 100m Free, 50m Breast.
- There not no need to include relay’s in your entries these are organised and paid for by the club after all swimmers have completed their individual event entries
