The 89th Annual Prom Swim
We are delighted to announce that Galway Swimming Club’s Annual Prom Swim will be held on Saturday 30th August 2025.
The usual route will be followed with; Juniors (Girls and Boys 13 & under) swimming 400m from Blackrock to Ladies Beach; Seniors (Women and Men – G.S.C Members/Ex-Members and “Open”) swimming approx. 1250m from the slipway west of Blackrock to the slipway opposite “CoCo Cafe”. There will be “suits” and “skins” categories for the Senior races.
We will have a quick prize-giving on the promenade green area opposite the finish line (across from Seapoint). We would like to give a special mention and thanks to the Tofts and Langan families who support the Prom Swim and Trophies. Presentation of prizes to follow immediately after the Senior Swim.
Kit Bags will be brought by van from Blackrock Tower to the finish line at Palmers Slipway for the Senior Race. Parents/Guardians should bring under 13s kit bags to the finish at Ladies Beach for the Junior Race.

Junior Swim – Boys/Girls 13 & Under i.e. Born 01/01/2012 or later (G.S.C Members only) from Blackrock to Ladies Beach (Tidal pool). “Skins” only (no wetsuits)
